NSI libraries

NSI Libraries services, resources and facilities

You will find well equipped libraries at each of our locations. These offer a wide range of print and audiovisual resources, services and facilities for students and staff to support learning and teaching.

The NSI Libraries website gives students and staff access to online resources and information, including eResources and study help.

Library membership, loans and all library services are free (except for printing and photocopying) and are available to all currently enrolled TAFE NSW students via their TAFEcard. Generous loan limits apply and renewals and reservation services are available on request.

Item location and other information about the TAFE NSW library collection is provided via the web-based TAFE NSW Library Catalogue. Resources not held at your library can be transferred from another TAFE NSW library via a state-wide inter-library loan service (conditions apply).

Trained and qualified library staff can help you find resources for your research and assessment tasks.

Online resources

Each library provides students and staff with free access to the internet and subscription databases. The A-Z Database Portal available from the NSI Libraries website gives you access from home or campus to a range of databases containing eJournals, eBooks, video clips, online reference and statistical information to support your course needs.

You will need to use your DET username and password to gain access to many of the eResources as well as on-site access to computers and the internet.

Online subject LibGuides are available for most courses.

All our libraries provide free access to computers and the internet, photocopiers and a range of other equipment such as scanners and DVD players. Study facilities may also include individual study carrels, learning centres, seminar rooms for groups of up to 30 people and group study rooms for 5–10 people.
