Trade Pathways Courses

About Trade Pathway Qualifications

In 2016, Training Services NSW introduced additional government subsidised pathways for qualifications that had previously been funded as apprenticeships only.

The new qualification pathways are targeted at individuals with relevant work experience who would benefit from a trade qualification but for whom an apprenticeship may not be appropriate.

A TAFE NSW Trade Pathways Qualification course could be ideal if you’ve been working in an industry or trade area for an extended period of time but haven’t received a qualification.

We have 14 trade pathway qualifications available.

To be eligible to undertake this training as a fully Government Subsidised course you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • over 21 years of age
  • can demonstrate and provide evidence of extensive previous industry experience
  • will be able to demonstrate relevant ongoing work experience and provide workplace evidence to support the achievement of competence
  • have left school
  • live or work in New South Wales
  • are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen.
