Description: This course will provide the skills and knowledge required to complete a professional evaluation of wine. It explores Australian wine styles, wine production, the role of a Sommelier,  as well as food and wine matching.

Hospitality

Qualification: Certificate III
Description: The Certificate III Hospitality – Sommelier elective is for those who want to work in the hospitality industry at the operative team leader level as a sommelier. This specialist course for budding sommeliers starts in February and students attend for one day per week for one year.

The program teaches you a variety of skills and how to present yourself for work in the industry. Participants must have access to an appropriate workplace or simulated workplace environment during the course. The units in this course include: wine evaluation (standard and advanced), provide specialist advice on wine, manage wine for a wine outlet, wine service, conduct a product tasting, and provide quality customer service.
Duration: 7 hours per week for 1 year (Monday)
