Whilst living in Sydney you will need money to travel and make the most of your stay. As a student you should be able to get a working visa quite easily from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).  

Many students can find part-time work in the retail, office administration, tourism and hospitality industries. Each of our seven colleges at Northern Sydney Institute has a job placement service which is free to students. This service can help you find part-time work.

As a student you are entitled to work 20 hours per week but you do need to have a valid visa. There are fees involved in the application, for the medical check-up, medical insurance and an additional work permit ($60) which is required to be able to work on a student visa.
