Pathways to university and a career

TAFE NSW qualifications are viewed favourably by many employers. When you have completed your course you will have gained a nationally recognised qualification in Australia which may lead to employment/career opportunities in your chosen field.

Our advanced diplomas and diplomas are also recognised by Australian universities for advanced entry into related degree programs (up to two years credit may be available).

Many of our students are university graduates who study at NSI to gain advanced technical and practical training in their fields.

Graduates from the TAFE English Language Centre, Northern Sydney Institute are guaranteed a place in a TAFE NSW advanced diploma, diploma or certificate course (as long as the academic entry requirements for the course are met). NSI offers over 600 courses to 50,000 local and international students each year.

Diploma to Degree (D2D) pathways

TAFE NSW graduates may be eligible to apply for credit at university for previous TAFE study in specific course areas. This may be possible through particular arrangements with some Australian universities.
