Q.  What is TELC?
A.  TELC stands for TAFE English Language Centre.

Q.  Where are the colleges?
Crows Nest College is a 7 minute bus trip from the centre of Sydney. It is located in the heart of the lower North Shore business district (CBD). It is only 5 km from downtown Sydney.

Meadowbank College is easily accessible by all forms of public transport and has a large car park for students. One of the largest colleges in Sydney, Meadowbank offers an extensive range of services and specialist training facilities.

Ryde College is the largest hospitality training centre in the Asia-Pacific region with commercially equipped kitchens, bars, cafes and restaurants.

Q.  What is the surrounding environment like?
A.  The area is surrounded by beautiful parks, tree-lined streets, shopping areas and a good selection of restaurants, cafes and eateries.

Q.  Is there good public transportation?
A.  Yes.  There is excellent access to public transport to all areas – city, major shopping centre, beaches, colleges, universities and hospitals.

Q.  Can TELC arrange accommodation for me?
A.  Yes.  Our staff can organise home stay accommodation for your stay in Sydney, and arrange for you to be collected from the airport on your arrival.

Q.  What facilities does TELC provide?
A.  TELC provides spacious learning facilities, which include:
  - free internet and email access
  - a modern library and access to any TAFE library in Sydney
  - natural environment surrounds, e.g. with trees and gardens
  - professional counselling and careers advice
  - advice on job placement
  - cafeteria.

International students are eligible for free Student Association membership with lounge, recreation and sporting facilities.  Activities, special rates and discounts through the Student College Association membership.

Q.  What are the different types of English programs offered at TELC?
A.  TELC offers a range of programs to suit learners of all abilities and for a range of purposes. From basic English tuition to Certificate III and IV courses for direct entry to TAFE, Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality School and universities, we can help you to achieve your study goals. Contact our customer service officer to discuss the best options for you.

Q.  What is English Plus?
A.  ‘English Plus' is a package of two accredited courses including an intensive English language course and a certificate or diploma course.  Many of these courses give credit towards future university study through our Diploma-to-Degree (D2D) pathways with university partners.

Q.  Do you have courses for working holiday-makers?
A.  Yes.  We have two intensive English courses available for working holiday makers, e.g. Intensive English plus Hospitality Service and Intensive English for the workplace.

Q.  Can I get a discount for the working holiday-makers course?
A.  Yes, discounts apply if you enrol with a friend.
