Retail Cosmetic Assistant

This course is for hairdressers, beauty therapists or those aspiring to work as a make-up artist. You will learn how to apply make-up for a range of purposes and in a range of situations - for instance, for day or bridal wear, for remedial camouflage or for photographic work. You must complete all core units and two elective units to receive the qualification. You should contact the college before enrolling in this course. You may be able to do single units to suit your particular needs. People considering enrolment in beauty courses need to be aware that skills development for clinical work will require students to practise on each other and that industry dress codes will apply. This will necessarily involve touch but will always be practised and applied in accordance with industry codes of practice and ethics.

If you want to be a success in the beauty industry you will need a range of the latest make-up skills and techniques, and the ability to apply them accordingly. This program will teach you make-up for day, business, leisure and special occasions including weddings and formals.

This course represents 1 unit of competency from Certificate III in Beauty Services which will be recognised if the student chooses to gain the full qualification. WRBFS202B

Certificate IV in Make-Up (Film, Television & Theatre)

This program is designed for those who wish to enter the international world of Film, TV and Theatre as a Make-up artist providing a service in fashion shoots, fashion parades, music clips and commercial and by assisting news readers and show hosts with their Make-up and hair. This program is a must if you want to work in feature films, television production and live theatre. Also included in the program is hair styling and wig/hairpiece styling and maintenance. A major component of this program is the fully coordinated work placement to gain work experience with film production houses, TV channels and the newly designed Film, TV and Digital Media unit at North Sydney College at AQF level 4.

This program is designed for those who wish to enter the international world of Film, TV and Theatre as a Make-up artist to provide a service and supervise as a Make-up artist in period and special effect Make-up, prosthetics as well as fashion shoots, fashion parades, music clips and commercial and by assisting news readers and show hosts with their Make-up and hair. This program is a must if you want to work in feature films, television production and live theatre. Also included in the program is hair styling and wig/hairpiece styling and maintenance. A major component of this program is the fully coordinated work placement to gain work experience with film production houses, TV channels and the newly designed Film, TV and Digital Media unit at North Sydney College at AQF level 5.
