Here you will find links to the learning technologies used by the Northern Sydney Institute to support student learning.

Your teacher or course facilitator will advise you which systems are used in your course. You will need to login using the username and password provided by your teacher or student services.

 

Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment (CLE)

Sakai is Northern Sydney Institute’s preferred environment for online learning.

You can access resources and learning communities; submit work for assessment and receive feedback; create a blog or wiki and store files and resource links in your personal learning workspace.

     
 

Adobe Connect Pro

Adobe Connect Pro is TAFE NSW’s web conferencing and virtual classroom environment.

You can participate in live presentations and webinars, watch streaming video recordings from the library, complete interactive Flash simulations, quizzes, tests, surveys, and receive feedback from your instructors and peers.

     
 

The Northern Sydney Institute libraries website

NSI's Libraries provide students and staff with a variety of online resources. The eResources Portal gives you access from home or on campus to a range of databases containing eJournals, eBooks, video clips, online reference and statistical information.  Online subject guides and Studylinks developed by TAFE librarians are available for most courses.

You will need to use your DET username and password to log in to most databases.

     
 

TAFE Student eServices

Student eServices provides access to a range of services for students.

You can update your contact details and TAFE preferences and view your enrolment details and unit results.

     
 

NSW Department of Education and Communities - TAFE Student Portal

The TAFE Student Portal is a gateway that provides secure access to the department’s applications, services and information.

You can use the portal to access your official email, websites and other DEC applications and to change your DEC user ID password.
