Description

This qualification reflects the role of commercial cooks who use a wide range of well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a commercial cook in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafs, and coffee shops.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

This course may also be offered as an apprenticeship. Please contact your campus for more information.

Subsidised fee

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled.

To be eligible for the Smart and Skilled subsidised fee you must be an Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder. You must also be over 15, no longer at school, and live or work in NSW. See our Smart and Skilled page for full details.

Full fee

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.

If you are granted recognition of prior learning or credit transfer for one or more units in this qualification, your student fee will be reduced.

Information sessions; We are running information sessions daily from 9am-4pm. Location 154 Old Pittwater rd M Block, Level 3, Room 22. Students are only required to attend for approximately 30 minutes. During this time we will answer all of the questions you may have regarding enrolments, timetables and delivery of the commercial cookery courses.
