This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as beauticians to provide a range of beauty services including nail, waxing, lash and brow, and basic make-up services.

These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical and customer service skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes client consultation on beauty products and services.

Work is typically conducted in beauty, waxing, brow and nail salons.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Subsidised fee

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled.

To be eligible for the Smart and Skilled subsidised fee you must be an Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder. You must also be over 15, no longer at school, and live or work in NSW. See our Smart and Skilled page for full details.

Full fee

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.

If you are granted recognition of prior learning or credit transfer for one or more units in this qualification, your student fee will be reduced.

Course related charges

Course Units
There are 2 parts to this course. Part 1- Off campus activities (an additional 8-10 hours per week) - watching DVDs. Part 2 - On-campus workshops. There are no course pre-requisites to this offering, just your creativity, passion and commitment to success. The course is face to face delivery session for 21 hours per week first 9 weeks, then 16 hours per week for the next 9 weeks.
Commences 05 February 2018 - Classes held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM
Length 18 weeks, 21 hours per week
Entry requirements
You will be required to purchase materials to complete the course. The cost will be given at the information session. Additional material will include kits for eye treatment, manicure, nail art, waxing and makeup.
