Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as beauticians to provide a range of beauty services including nail, waxing, lash and brow, and basic make-up services.

These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical and customer service skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes client consultation on beauty products and services.

Work is typically conducted in beauty, waxing, brow and nail salons.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Subsidised fee

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled.

To be eligible for the Smart and Skilled subsidised fee you must be an Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder. You must also be over 15, no longer at school, and live or work in NSW. See our Smart and Skilled page for full details.

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.

If you are granted recognition of prior learning or credit transfer for one or more units in this qualification, your student fee will be reduced.

Important Dates

There are no formal entry requirements for the course,however a basic level of language, literacy and numeracy is essential. This opton is designed for beginners in the beauty industry. A good level of english is an advantage. You are required to attend 1 compulsory information session to talk to our expert facilitators to ensure the course meets your career goals. Dates are: Monday 22nd May 2017 at 10.30am and 6.00pm, Wednesday 24 th May 2017 at 10.30 am and 6.00pm Tuesday 13 th June @ 10.30am and 6.00pm Thursday 15 th June @ 10.30am and 6.00pm Monday 19 th June @ 10.30am and 6.00pm Thursday 21st June @ 10.30am and 6.00pm Venue: Building A, Level 1 Room A1.51 . If you cannot attend please email the Head Teacher fiona.christopher2@tafensw.edu.au and you will be sent an information/orientation pack. Professional educators will be on hand answer any questions on the courses. Students will attend college for three days per week for twenty hours each week .

Course Units
This course has face to face classes for 20 hours per week for ten weeks . You can expect to do an additional 4 to 6 hours a week of self-directed study, which may include watching DVDS , research, written papers and online activities. Classes start from the 17 th July 2017. You are required to attend 1 compulsory information session to talk to our expert facilitators to ensure the course meets your career goals .Information sessions are held in Building A Level 1 Room 51 on Monday 22th May 10:30am and 6:00pm, Wednesday 24th May 10:30am and 6:00pm Tuesday 13th June 10:30am and 6:00pm, Thursday 15th June 10:30am and 6:00pm Monday 19th June 10:30am and 6:00pm, Thursday 21th June 10:30am and 6:00pm.
