Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry.

This course may also be offered as an apprenticeship. Please contact your campus for more information.

Subsidised fee

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled.

To be eligible for the Smart and Skilled subsidised fee you must be an Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder. You must also be over 15, no longer at school, and live or work in NSW. See our Smart and Skilled page for full details.

Full fee

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.

If you are granted recognition of prior learning or credit transfer for one or more units in this qualification, your student fee will be reduced.

Course Units
This course has 630 face to face hours at 7 hours per day for 90 weeks for 3 years. You can expect to do an additional work at of least 2 hours week for 90 weeks of self-directed study, which may include research, portfolio, projects and online. Collection of workplace evidence is required to complete this course.

Entry requirements
This is an apprenticeship course. As an apprentice, you and an employer have a legal agreement called a training contract. This lasts until you have completed your training and both you and your employer agree you are competent. You and your employer use an Apprenticeship Network Provider to lodge your training contract and have it approved by Training Services NSW. You will need to apply for a Unique Student Identifier Number and use this number when you apply for entry into this qualification.When we match your application with the training contract lodged with Training Services NSW we will email you a link so that you can enrol and pay the appropriate course fee for an apprentice. Make sure you provide a valid email account that you regularly check to allow you to enrol promptly. This is an apprenticeship course that requires regular attendance on a weekly basis. The course allows for competency based progression and completion.
