In this skill set you will gain the skills and knowledge required to apply facial make-up products for day, evening or special occasions. You will also learn how to analyse hair and facial characteristics to design, recommend and complete a range of complementary up-styles.

There are no formal entry requirements.
This product is for hairdressers who require extra skills.

Subsidised fee

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled.

To be eligible for the Smart and Skilled subsidised fee you must be an Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder. You must also be over 15, no longer at school, and live or work in NSW. See our Smart and Skilled page for full details.

Full fee

If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.

If you are granted recognition of prior learning or credit transfer for one or more units in this qualification, your student fee will be reduced.

Course related charges

Important Dates

FREE SHORT COURSE - We are pleased to offer this free course to help you expand your existing skills and knowledge. Learn advanced skills in upstyling hair and new skills in make-up with this wonderful introductory course. You will need to be a qualified hairdressers or a hairdresser that has completed their Certificate 3 in hairdressing. You will learn to apply make-up for day and evening wear together with bridal and photographic make-up. Skills you will gain include how to apply camouflage make-up for covering tattoos, birthmarks and blemishes. You will also learn to design new and advanced upstyles to complement your make up along with advanced techniques which you can take back to industry and use on your clients. This course provides a pathway into Cert 4 Hairdressing and higher level hairdressing, beauty and make-up courses. You will attend the college one day per week this being a Wednesday evening 6pm till 10pmClasses are held at: Northern Beaches Campus, Block A, Level 1, Room 1.47 Your first day of attendance will be your orientation day but if you have questions about the course or would like assistance in enroling then there are teacher present Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm that can assist you in the college. Course Units
This course is face to face delievery session on a Wednesday for 4 hours per day over 12 weeks. You can expect to do at least some additional self directed study at home or in the salon which may include written, online or workplace tasks.
Commences 06 September 2017 - Classes held on Wednesday between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM
Length 12 weeks, 4 hours per week
Entry requirements
Certificate III in Hairdressing is a prerequisite. Please wear closed in shoes and bring fullhairdressing kit.
