Overview

The Northern Sydney Institute is a Registered Training Organisation (Provider Code 90011) operating under the National VET Regulator, and is a nationally and internationally recognised training provider that provides quality assured training and nationally recognised qualifications to domestic and international students.

 

The Northern Sydney Institute is committed to excellence in vocational education and training.

  • The Institute is certified against the ISO 9001:2008 international Quality Management Standards.
  • The Institute holds international certification against the ISO 14001: 2004 standard for environmental management systems.
  • The Institute is a Smart and Skilled approved provider for the NSW government subsidised training (National Provider Code 90011).
  • The Institute is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS Code 00591E) providing security and peace of mind for international students.

The Northern Sydney Institute forms part of TAFE NSW, a statutory authority established under NSW State legislation, the Technical and Further Education Commission Act 1990. TAFE NSW has the financial stability and support of the NSW Government. As part of the NSW Government, TAFE NSW is a dependable organisation which students and industry can confidently rely on for the long term.

Training outcomes
Results from the 2015 Student Outcomes Survey conducted by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) shows that:
  • 84.0% of graduates were satisfied with the overall quality of training
  • 79.3% of graduates fully or partly achieved their main reason for doing the training
  • 83.1% of graduates were employed or in further study after training
  • 35.2% of graduates were enrolled in further study
  • 68.7% of graduates gained employment after training
  • 32.9% of graduates who were not employed before training were employed after
  • 74.9% of graduates reported that the training was relevant to their current job
  • 73.9.3% received at least one job-related benefit

The Northern Sydney Institute is required to conduct the Learner and Employer Satisfaction Surveys on an annual basis and report the results to the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). See the 2015 report to ASQA.

ASQA audit information

The Northern Sydney Institute is a Registered Training Organisation and operates under the VET Quality Framework regulated by ASQA. Under this framework RTO’s must re-apply for registration every 5 years.

NSI was audited against the VET Quality Framework in February 2014 by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) for the renewal of RTO registration until 31 August 2018.

Northern Sydney Institute is an approved delegate of the Australian Skills Quality Authority.
